Solyco tomatoes under hybrid lighting Netherlands

Solyco Netherlands and its owner Gertjan van der Spek runs 17 hectares of high end tomato greenhouses under LED and hybrid light in the Netherlands.

On their locations in Bergschenhoek, Bleiswijk and Berkel en Rodenrijs they produce year round Roma tomatoes, Truss tomatoes and plum.

With over 80 million tomatoes produced per year they are one of the biggest growers of the Growers United cooperation, which takes care of the marketing of their high end produce.

Solyco is an early adaptor of high end technology and already installed their first MechaTronix grow light system in 2020.

The CoolStack LED grow lights in their greenhouses are dimensioned in this way that most lighted hours of the winter can be ran on solely the LED grow light installation. In this way a perfect balance is realized between needed light level and reduced energy cost.
