Kwekerij Zijdezicht: Sustainable Flower Cultivation with MechaTronix LED Lighting

At Kwekerij Zijdezicht, the focus is on cultivating the highest quality asters and chrysanthemums with a strong commitment to sustainability. With a total cultivation area of 71,000 m², spread over two modern locations, the nursery uses the latest technologies to grow stunning flowers with minimal environmental impact.

A key part of their sustainable approach is the use of CHP installations (Combined Heat and Power) to maximize the use of heat, light, and CO₂. Additionally, Zijdezicht sources extra residual CO₂ from OCAP, which delivers it through a pipeline network from companies such as Shell, ensuring this CO₂ is reused instead of released into the atmosphere. As a participant in MPS (Milieu Project Siergewassen), Zijdezicht actively implements sustainable business practices.

In 2022, Kwekerij Zijdezicht took a major step toward future-focused cultivation by equipping its locations at Oostlaan and Gildeland with MechaTronix LED lighting. These LED solutions provide optimal light quality, lower energy costs, and further reduce environmental impact.

Ron van Oosten and John Krijger, the founders of Kwekerij Zijdezicht, have always had a clear vision of quality and innovation. Since their establishment in 2002, with the construction of their first greenhouse in De Lier, they have continually expanded and modernized their business.

Thanks to the investment in MechaTronix LED lighting at two locations, Kwekerij Zijdezicht is perfectly equipped to produce high-quality flowers with maximum efficiency and sustainability.

Since 2011, their chrysanthemums have been rigorously quality-controlled and marketed under the Zentoo brand.

With MechaTronix as a partner, Kwekerij Zijdezicht continues to grow and thrive, always focused on a greener future!
