Since 2023, Dekker Chrysanten has been working closely with MechaTronix to optimize their cultivation processes. Their first step involved the installation of three-channel Coolstack LED grow lights. These lamps combine white light—crucial for customers to select the right varieties—with advanced light recipes specifically designed to enhance the growth and quality of chrysanthemums.

In March and December 2024, Dekker expanded their use of MechaTronix technology with a new generation of four-channel LED lamps. These lamps provide unparalleled flexibility by allowing each channel to be controlled individually, enabling tailored light recipes for various growth stages within the same greenhouse.

Focus on Rooting and Personalized Light Recipes

A key advantage of the four-channel LED systems is their ability to enhance the rooting of young chrysanthemum plants during the critical first three weeks of development. By subtly adjusting the light spectrum, such as increasing specific colors, Dekker Chrysanten can optimize root development and prevent growth delays.

Moreover, this technology enables them to manage multiple growth stages within different sections of the greenhouse, each with its own personalized light recipe. This means plants with different lighting needs—from rooting to final development—can be cultivated simultaneously in the same greenhouse. In practice, this allows cuttings to grow more robustly under optimal climatic conditions, reducing crop stress.
